Passports with Purpose: The Power of the Travel Community for Good

Travel Tips

1 Dec

It’s the time of year when our thoughts and actions turn to holiday giving. This year, we are celebrating the power of the travel community and supporting Passports with Purpose. Passports with Purpose is the annual Travel Bloggers’ fundraiser. In 2009, 90 bloggers participated and raised almost $30,000 to build a school in rural Cambodia. In 2010, they have set their sights even higher and with the help of the travel community, will aim to raise $50,000 to build a village in rural India through a partnership with Friends of LAFTI. IF this calls to you, I encourage you to explore the site to learn more and donate: www.passportswithpurpose.com/donate

Best Family Travel Advice: Marriott Celebrates the Spirit of the Season

HipTravelMama is also proud to be a partner in BestFamilyTravelAdvice, who is hosting a prize for raffle for Passports with Purpose. This year,  Paradise by Marriott, a Marriott Resorts family of hotels and resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico, has generously donated an extraordinary prize for the 2010 Passports With Purpose raffle: A 5-night stay at ANY OF THE NINE Paradise by Marriott resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico!*

Seriously – it’s cold here and I could use an escape to Aruba…Cancun…Grand Cayman…or one of Marriott Resorts’ six sunny Caribbean locations where I can dip my toes in the sand. Every $10 that you donate to PWP gets you once chance to win this and other fabulous prizes. You can even make the donations in someone else’s honor (they make great holiday gifts)! All donations are tax deductible.

To browse the other prizes and purchase chances to win, please visit the Passports With Purpose website until December 13, 2010. A BIG thank you is in order to Marriott Resorts for generously donating this prize to Passports with Purpose through Best Family Travel Advice. Marriott is a big supporter of the travel blogger community and their commitment to family travelers is top-notch.
