Passport to Luxury: Dining Out at BOKA and Barking Frog

Travel Tips

20 Jul

When was the last time you ate your way to a free hotel night at a luxury hotel? Well, we’ve been giving it the old college try with the wine and dine your way to a free luxury hotel stay promotion by the MTM Northwest Collection that includes fine dining at a few of my favorite Seattle luxury hotels: Hotel 1000, Willows Lodge and the Hotel Sorrento. All you need are three stamps on your dining passport by eating at three stellar Seattle restaurants including BOKA Kitchen and Bar, Barking Frog and Hunt Club to earn a free overnight stay at your choice. But you better hurry – the promotion ends July 31., 2011. To tempt your taste buds, here’s a few pictures of our delectable meals. Hungry yet? Stay tuned for our final stop at the Hotel Sorrento.

Dinner at BOKA

Dinner started with our celebratory glass of champagne and proceeded with several small plates of fresh seafood prepared by Chef Angie Roberts who came out to say hello and share her passion for local, organic ingredients. BOKA also features an eclectic selection of wines from around the world, including many well known Northwest winemakers.

Taylor’s Farm Geoduck served sashimi style and crispy with lemon, olive oil and aioli. The staff impressed us with their extensive knowledge of Geoduck.

Columbia River Sturgeon with beet puree, black quinoa, dill mousse, cipollini onions and baby beets.

Salted caramel chocolate molten cake and strawberry shortcake with lemon shortbread. BOKA even packed a little strawberry shortcake to take home to the kids!

Dinner at Barking Frog – Woodinville Wine Country

Visiting the Barking Frog is like coming home. Since we hosted Mamacation there last November, we’ve had a special bond. Chef Bobby Moore and team do an extraordinary job of transporting you to wine country with dishes that pair perfectly with Woodinville wine country’s yummy wines.

Watermelon and heirloom tomato salad with fresh chevre, toasted pine nuts micro greens and 10 year aged balsamic.

Sea Scallops and Souse Vide Pork Belly over grilled corn risotto, smoked mushrooms, caramelized leeks and jalapeno.

A shot of espresso and chocolate mousse – ’nuff said.

Note: We received complementary meals at BOKA and Barking Frog to share the experience of this promotion with our readers. We were not required to write or express any opinions about our experience.
