Hotel Sorrento: Historic Luxury in Seattle

Hotels we love

9 Aug

The Hotel Sorrento is a Seattle landmark and recognized as one of the longest operating Seattle boutique hotels. This was our first stay at this historic Seattle luxury hotel and we had great fun being tourists in our own city. The seven-story building features Italian Renaissance style architecture inspired by The Vittoria in Sorrento, Italy. Located in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood, Hotel Sorrento is steeped in old world elegance with comfy beds and all the amenities you would expect from a luxury hotel. Lemons are a signature theme at this hotel, and you will find them all around the hotel, from the lemon water, to the signature La Vie Lemon tins, and Limoncello at the Hunt Club Restaurant and Bar.

We had to turn in early, but the hotel features live music on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as “block parties” on select Wednesdays, where they block off the gorgeous circular courtyard “piazza” and serve guests snacks and signature drinks.

Luxury Hotel Suite in Seattle

We stayed at the Hotel Sorrento with our whole crew – kids, and our first hotel stay with our chocolate labradoodle, Roxy. Our one-bedroom suite had two queen beds and was SUPER comfortable and spacious – a perfect setup for our family of four + 1 new puppy. The Hotel Sorrento has standard king and double rooms, but I recommend a suite with the separate bedroom and full living room – it’s worth the splurge.

When we arrived, Roxy had her own cozy bed and food and water dishes ready and waiting.

NW Passport Dinner at The Hunt Club

The Hunt Club Hotel Sorrento was our last stop in our NW Collection Passport, part of the Benchmark Hospitality group. This time we dined with our kids, so the meal was rushed, but had a great meal and the restaurant has a great wine selection, including one of our favorites, Domaine Druin, Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.

A BIG thank you to the Hotel Sorrento for making our whole family feel so welcome, for an outstanding dinner and a great dessert delivered to our room, long after our preschooler was ready for bed.

Note: We were hosted guests of the Hotel Sorrento, but were not required to express any opinions, or write about our stay.
