New Fantasyland Openings

5 Dec

The largest expansion project in Magic Kingdom history began opening in March 2012 at Walt Disney World Resort, featuring attractions and experiences in an area that will nearly double the size of Fantasyland. Among the novelties, guests are able to fly high on the family-friendly coaster, Barnstormer, featuring The Great Goofini, or with an all-new Dumbo the Flying Elephant that is double the original fun (one spinning clockwise, the other counterclockwise), along with Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak Station. Grand Opening is scheduled Dec. 6, 2012 for Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Gaston’s Tavern and Ariel’s Grotto. Previews are set for Nov. 19. A 2013 opening is planned for Princess Fairytale Hall and a 2014 opening is scheduled for The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, taking guests on a musical ride into the mine “where a million diamonds shine.” Walt Disney World Resort is in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
