Places to go

24 May

DISNEY

Ready to kick off the family vacation season this Memorial Day Weekend? Grab your little monsters and head to Disney Parks this weekend, because there’s never been a better time to experience the magic of Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure Park, and The Walt Disney World Resort. Kicking off Disney’s ‘Monsterous Summer’ with scary amounts of fun, you’ll have access to special events and exciting new additions to the park. Planning to head to Disney Parks this summer? Here are 4 ways that you can celebrate  Summer at Disneyland and The Walt Disney World Resort starting this Memorial Day Weekend:

1. Who’s in for a Disney All-Nighter On May 24th?

Can you imagine spending 24 magical hours at Disneyland? Today, three Disney parks – Disneyland Resort, California Adventure Park and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort are staying open 24 hours, from Friday May 24th at 6:00 a.m. to Saturday, May 25th at 6:oo a.m. You’ll have access to everything that the parks offer, including some special treats just for your Monsterous Summer. Hungry? You can head to Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street for an Eye Scream Sundae. Have a serious sweet tooth? Keep your eye out for special blue and green cotton candy and Monsters University inspired caramel apples!

2. Grab Your Tiara and Join The Fantasy Faire

Disney

Your favorite princesses await your arrival at the new Fantasy Faire, a storybook world that transports you to a place where fairy tales come to life. The Fantasy Faire is located in a charming village square highlighted by the Tangled Tower. At night, Rapunzel’s braid twisted around the tower comes to life with twinkling lights. One of the most exciting additions to the New Fantasyland is the Royal Theatre which offers two live shows with Rapunzel from Tangled and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones, a pair of vaudeville-style Renaissance storytellers transport you to a storybook world where you may just see your favorite princesses (and then get to say hello!). For princesses young and old, there’s a Fairytale Treasures shop with royal items. If you’re looking for a yummy bite to eat, check out the Strawberry Almond Creme bread twists of Maurice’s Treats, a cart made especially for guests by Belle’s father Maurice!

3. Join Mickey and the Magical Map

Disney

We were fortunate to get a sneak peek last night of the premiere of Mickey and the Magical Map. Mickey Mouse reprieves one of his most famous roles as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice in this fun show for audiences of all ages. Performers paint a larger-than-life map capable of transporting dreamers to any place that they can imagine–but things go awry when curiosity gets the best of Mickey and his mischief takes him and the crowd on a journey of imagination. Accompanied by the mapmakers, the visuals and music of this show are sure to enchant your whole family.

4. Live The Magic with Live Entertainment

disney

Did you know that many kids experience live entertainment for the first time at the Disneyland Resort and the Disney World Resort? There’s never a shortage of exciting entertainment in Disneyland, whether you’re joining the fun during Mickey’s Soundsational Parade or gazing up in awe at the spectacular Magical fireworks show. Disney has added some new excitement to the parks, however, with familiar faces joining in on the live experiences. For the littlest Disney fanatics, Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins have joined the cast of Disney Junior–Live On Stage. Or catch a lively day time parade featuring your favorite Pixar characters at the Pixar Play Parade. Of course, there’s always the fan-favorites available throughout the parks, like Jedi Training at the Tomorrowland Terrace and World of Color at Disney’s California Adventure.

How will you celebrate a Monsterous Summer at Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort? Let us know in the comment or on Facebook!
