A-Z #WellTraveledFamily Challenge: S-V Roundup

On TV

20 Aug
#WellTraveledFamily
The days are getting shorter and there’s a slight chill in the air in the morning, but that doesn’t mean your family can’t still squeeze in some last minute travel this August and into the Fall. It’s a great time to explore with your family, and we’ve put to together our favorite picks for the letters S-V for you to enjoy:
S IS FOR SALISH LODGE AND SPA
#welltraveledfamily
Salish has a new, ohm-worthy program waiting for parents–the new Yoga by the Falls program. For a last minute getaway, Check out the Moonlight Retreat Package for 2 that includes a one night stay, a private couples massage on the Hidden Terrace, 2 Vinyasa Flow or Gentle Yoga class passes, and a bottle of Salish Lodge and Spa Private Label Champagne. Rates from $539/night.
T IS FOR TRAINS AND TROLLEYS
#welltraveledfamily
Trains are a really fun way to explore with your kids–whether its a short trip around a small town or an 8-hour exploration of a wonder of the World. If you’re looking for a quick trip, check out the vintage Issaquah trolley which travels from Downtown Issaquah to the Gilman Village area. Looking for something that will make a vacation? Try the Grand Canyon Railway which has a special this Labor Day Weekend. The 8-hour round trip ride departs from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon with a Wild West theme.
U IS FOR ONE LAST “UNPLUGGED” VACATION
#welltraveledfamily
Put away your devices and get back to nature and the great outdoors with your family. We recently went camping at Lake Cle Elum and loved getting away from it all. There’s a great resort in the San Juan Islands, Lakedale Resort, that offers a 10 room lodge, cabins, and glamping as well as airstream trailers and group camp sites. Camping is a great way to have old fashioned family fun whether you’re fishing, kayaking, or sitting around a campfire.
 V IS FOR VICTORIA, B.C.
#welltraveledfamily
It’s no secret that we love Victoria, and there’s plenty of reasons why! It’s a short 2+ hour ferry ride from Seattle on the Victoria Clipper, and is a great family-friendly and walkable city. One of our favorite places to stay? The Fairmont Empress Hotel which has beautiful views of the Inner Harbour. Shopping on Lower Johnson Street or taking the water taxi to some fun spots is an excellent way to explore the city.
