Seattle spa vacation at Elaia Spa | Hyatt at Olive 8

Travel Tips

9 Apr

hyatt olive 8 entryAs busy moms, peace and tranquility are rare moments to be savored and self-care is something that often gets dropped to the bottom of our to do lists. My 2014 #welltraveledfamily list includes a focus on infusing wellness into my daily routine by building in daily mediation, exercise and journaling, practicing yoga 2-3 times a week, and taking better care of my body by getting more sleep and booking monthly spa treatments. Maybe it is because I work in the travel industry, but I have often found some of my most peaceful moments at a hotel spa. On my recent trip to Elaia Spa at Hyatt at Olive 8 Seattle, I was able to grab a quick hour of a Seattle spa vacation at Hyatt Olive 8, just steps away from downtown Seattle’s best shopping and the Paramount Theatre.

elaia spa vacation seattle Elaia, which means “Olive” in Greek, is symbolic of peace, wisdom and resilience. After checking in, I was greeted with some delicious herbal tea and enjoyed the Market Fresh Wrap, a heavenly hour treatment that includes a full body scrub, light massage and hot rain shower. The treatment began with a sweet Lavender infused Olive Oil Scrub, followed by a French Green Clay treatment, and a snug wrap in a warm, heated blanket. The icing on the cake for the treatment was the hot rain shower surrounded by 12 showerheads and light massage with hydrating body balm. I was SOOOOOO relaxed.

The good news for moms? There are an abundance of Seattle spa vacation packages coming up for Mother’s Day next month. Now is your time to practice good self-care and book yourself (or drop hints for your family to gift you a spa treatment) to be queen for the day at the spa.IMG_4938
