Last minute spring break planning | New Day Northwest

On TV· Travel Tips

1 Mar

Looking to plan that last minute spring break vacation with the family? I recently sat down with Margaret Larson with New Day Northwest to share my tips for planning a last minute trip.

Here are three easy getaways from Seattle to sun, fun and a little international adventure for spring trips with the family!

Phoenix, AZ

Now’s the perfect time for a visit to Phoenix and Scottsdale Arizona. Plan to spend the day loungnig poolside, hit the waterslides, golf, tennis or hike. Day trips to the Grand Canyon and Sedona are a few hours drive. Or catch the end of Mariner’s Spring Training in Peoria.

Experience poolside days, waterslides, a trip to the Grand Canyon, hikes or Jeep tours, or even hit up Mariner’s Spring Training!

Be sure to check in to the Wigwam Resort, or the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort.

2. Arenal, Costa Rica:

Fly into Liberia aiport and make the three hour or so drive to a jungle paradise in Arenal, Costa Rica. Zipline over rainforest canopy, soak and raft in natural hot springs, get up-close-and-personal with wildlife ore at the wildlife preserve.

3. Portland, OR.

Eat your way through Portland dining month at the many food trucks dotting the city. Also check out Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Powell’s Books, biking and more!

Stay:  Sentinel Hotel, Hotel Monaco, or The Nines

Best advice for last minute booking?

Travel mid-week for the best deals use email alerts, miles and rewards for airfare, and use companion fares like those for Alaska Air credit card members to save money! Airlines and hotels and online travel booking sites also reward their mobile app customers with mobile-only deals. And don’t forget to search for those promo codes!
