8 tips + tricks to book your best stay at Fairmont Kea Lani

Hotels we love

12 May

Ready to book your trip to Maui? Consider these tips to book your best stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani:

  1. Book a morning paddle on the Hawaiian Canoe Experience – a fun way to get some exercise, see the shoreline and snorkel in a relaxed way around the point from the hotel. Book in advance.
  2. Book a cabana and eat by the pool – the food poolside is outstanding with lots of fresh options such as salads, fruit and of course, fruity cocktails.
  3. Spend a day on Polo Beach. The waves are perfect for boogie boarding and you can build sand castles all day. Grab sandwiches or salads to-to at Cafe Ciao & Bakery Market.
  4. Check out the family activities, especially during peak times of mid-winter, spring, summer and holiday breaks. We loved celebrating Easter at Fairmont, and the henna tattoo artist made for a fun souvenir.
  5. Share a family villa with another family and buffet breakfast is included. Fairmont Kea Lani has one of the best breakfast buffets on the island IMO.
  6. Pack light and run a load of laundry during family movie night one night, with a washer/dryer conveniently located on each floor
  7. Use the free Fairmont Shuttle to get a ride to nearby restaurants like MonkeyPod and Pint + Cork, and the Shops at Wailea
  8. Check out the Fairmont’s current Family Stay and Play offer and details.

Other perks we like:

  • Easy access to Polo Beach, complimentary boogie boards, sand toys and beach umbrellas and chairs for guests
  • Free Sun Bum sunscreen poolside and by the beach
  • Pack light and run a load of laundry during family movie night one night, with a washer/dryer conveniently located on each floor
  • No wrist bands!

Be sure to check out our photo gallery, spa and dining posts for more details on our stay.

Final piece of advice: Consider traveling off peak season if you can – late April – June 1, October – pre-Thanksgiving, first two weeks of December for best rates.

Disclosure: We were hosted guests of the Fairmont Kea Lani and received complimentary accommodations and services during our stay for review purposes. As always, the opinions here are our own.
