Going big on Maui vacation memories at the Grand Wailea

Hotels we love

25 May

Big Maui vacation memories are made at the Grand Waliea. This luxury resort has long been one of our favorite places to stay in the Hawaiian Islands. Why? The pools. The Grand Wailea and Spa is a luxurious resort on the south shore of Maui on Wailea Beach that certainly lives up to its name, boasting a whopping 776 guest rooms, including 56 suites. Even more impressive than the grand hotel entrance is the property – acres of meandering paths, waterfalls and natural foliage, and more than 27,000 square feet of water playground for families.

The main Wailea Canyon Activity Pool is a pool-seeking family’s dream – featuring nine separate pools, seven waterslides, a lazy river, rope swing, baby beach and the world’s first water elevator. From caves to waterfalls and hidden hot tubs, you will spend days here and may never want to leave the water. This lush water playground is also just steps from Wailea Beach, one of the best beaches on Maui, and a short walk from the Shops at Wailea. The Grand Wailea is worth the splurge for a few nights if you are looking to make some memories and spend a few lazy days by the pool soaking up the warm Maui sun.

Because pictures always speak louder than words, here’s a quick gallery of our recent stay at The Grand Wailea. Stay tuned for our top tips for maximizing your time and budget at the Grand Wailea, and what we love about the new Grand Wailea room renovations.

We’ve been coming to the Grand Wailea since our girls were babies and just walking through the property evokes memories of our now-not-so-little ones wading in the sand bottom baby beach, while my husband and I sip Mai Tais poolside with good friends. This trip we met up with old friends and created some new memories

Be sure to check out the Grand Wailea’s current special offers and packages.
