2012 Expedia Spring Travel Trends and Inspiration

Travel Tips

28 Mar

I find it extremely fitting that it was snowing in Seattle when I climbed into the car at 3:00am to drive to the studio last week. SNOWING IN MARCH. I was on my way to talk spring travel with broadcast outlets across the country, in partnership with Expedia. Watching the snow come down on my windshield, I was longing to head straight to the airport to get on a plane to anywhere warm and dry. Do the long winter days have you ready to escape too?

Maybe you already have your spring break plans locked, are on spring break now, or are planning on sticking closer to home this spring. The good news is there has never been a better time to find great deals on spring trips and start planning those summer getaways. The Expedia American Traveler Survey indicates that despite the economy, we are still out there traveling and we are using blogs like this (thank you!) and social media to influence where to go, where to stay and find great deals. And guess what is making a comeback? The great American road trip. Many of you are longing to hit the roads this summer despite higher gas prices. You are also taking shorter roadtrips and spending longer in your destination. Sound like you? Watch this video to get more tips and see how others are traveling this spring. Enjoy!
