Downtown Portland Luxury Hotels: The Nines Hotel Portland Review

Hotels we love

14 Aug

downtown portland hotels suitesOn our recent trip to Portland, Oregon, we stayed at one of my favorite downtown Portland luxury hotels, The Nines Hotel, Portland. We’ve stayed at The Nines several times before, most recently as a couple when we went wine tasting in Willamette Valley. This Nines is one of my favorite luxury hotels in Portland because of the hotel’s sophisticated style and the use of vibrant color throughout. The Nines is a Starwood Luxury Collection hotel and features an impressive collection of contemporary art by local artists. Each of the Nines 331 luxurious guest rooms, including 13 suites are beautifully styled.

The Nines features Departure Restaurant, one of downtown Portland’s only rooftop bars with killer views of the city, river and Mount Hood. We didn’t get time to eat there this trip, but I had cocktails on a warm summer evening last year and it was divine!

The inside hotel rooms overlook the lobby area and the Urban Farmer Restaurant, a modern steakhouse with an emphasis on Northwest, sustainable ingredients. Urban Farmer also has an impressive selection of fresh cheeses and wine, perfect for relaxing after a long day shopping in the city.

Disclosure: We received a media rate for accommodations at The Nines and have an ongoing consulting agreement with Starwood Hotels and Resorts. We were not required to express any opinions about our stay. As always, the opinions here are our own.
