Travel Dreaming with Mr. Peabody & Sherman starts tomorrow

It is a bit of an understatement to say that animated feature films such as Frozen and The Lego Movie have taken on an unhealthy obsession in our house. Maybe it is the new movie theater down the street, or the rainy Seattle winter. I’ve even created some fun animated feature film themed Spring Break vacation ideas inspired by these movies. I really love the underlying inspirational messages these family-friendly movies share, so you can imagine my delight when I saw the trailer for the next big animated film by DreamWorks, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, inspiring travel. Mr. Peabody and Sherman opens in theaters tomorrow, March 7, 2014.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman brings back the beloved 1960 character Peabody (from The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show) and sends us through a travel adventure through time and places around the world. The story follows Mr. Peabody (the voice of Ty Burrell, best known as the the dad from Modern Family), the most accomplished dog in the world, and his mischievous boy Sherman as they use their time machine called the WABAC (pronounced, “way back”) to go back in time to some pretty fabulous places around the world. They get into trouble, but also discover one of the most valuable lessons in life – some of the best moments in time are with the ones you love. We are going to see it tomorrow and I’m excited to see what conversations this movie will inspire in our house.

As part of my work with Expedia, we’ve partnered up with DreamWorks Animation to share where we would go if we had a WABAC to travel through space and time. Read my post – I would go back in time to the late 1950s Hollywood glamour era. From Paris in the roaring 1920s, to Egypt in the 1960s, to chasing whales through time, each of my fellow Expedia Viewfinders have shared our own time travel inspiration and encourage you to check it out and dream big about where you and your #welltravelefamily would travel if you had a WABAC. For me, I share my love for 1950s Hollywood and the childhood memories that evoked big dreams as a little girl.

When and where will the WABAC take you?
